With most players hitting their performance standards and contributing right from the start, the season began on a positive note for High Voltage. The backcourt “risks” paid off, the premium forwards confirmed their class, and the only — truly bad — exception was at center, where the team had already predicted trouble yesterday.

Let’s go through it in order.

In Dubai’s Euroleague debut, Dzanan Musa was the undisputed leader. Bertans’ threes were falling, Kabengele provided energy inside, but the Bosnian was the only one who truly “felt” the game. Musa finished with 19 points (3/7 2pt, 3/5 3pt, 4/4 FT), 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 drawn fouls in 33:43, good for a 21 PIR and 23.1 Fantasy points, immediately setting a higher bar for what’s to come.

In Athens, ...R-athens-Mayes wasted no time signaling a breakout season ahead: 18 points (2/7 2pt, 2/5 3pt, 8/11 FT), 5 rebounds, 8 assists, 6 drawn fouls — all in just 24 minutes — for 26 PIR. He’s already hinting at the potential for a triple-double sometime this season. Meanwhile, Lucic, whom the team considered seriously, ended on 11 PIR, mostly because he failed to score (and never went to the line despite drawing four fouls). Samodurov posted the same score (plus 10% of the win), with 6 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists in 10.5 minutes.

In Baskonia, the “bet” on Dorsey paid off in full. Even without his best shooting night, the Greek international guard played aggressively, took initiative, and logged heavy minutes. He finished with 21 points (3/6 2pt, 2/8 3pt, 9/10 FT), 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 2 turnovers, and 5 drawn fouls in 32:13 — for 21 PIR and 23.1 Fantasy points.

The top score once again came from Vezenkov. Despite a slow Fantasy start, he exploded for 27 PIR and 59.4 captain’s points, recording an epic double-double in 28.5 minutes: 24 points (6/12 2pt, 2/8 3pt, 6/6 FT), 13 rebounds, and 4 drawn fouls.

Matching him was Milutinov, who looked like a man among boys. He instantly reminded everyone of his frightening Fantasy ceiling this season. On the flip side, Samanic was completely unable to impact the game, stuck at just 2 PIR with 7 points (3/7 shooting), 2 rebounds, and 3 turnovers in 18.5 minutes. The mere 2.4-credit gap between them raises serious questions for the initial center selection, but also compared to his teammates Forrest (22) and Diallo (17), who translated their talent into boxscore and Fantasy value.

The main dilemma, of course, revolved around Dorsey, who excelled — and that means Ataman stayed too, after delivering 10 points from Panathinaikos’s 87–79 win against Bayern. No surprises there: this pick was tactical and long-term.

For Turn 2, there aren’t many changes to make. The obvious one is replacing Samanic in the starters with Wright. After that, De Larrea and Harrison are competing for the last open spot. With Samodurov’s 11 falling within their expectations, and given that ASVEL’s picture is still blurry while the Valencia guard was MVP of the Spanish Super Cup, that sixth roster spot goes to him.

And of course, there’s no debate about who wears the captain’s armband.

Roster

Thus, High Voltage’s final roster for Gameweek 1 will likely be:
